Shift Garage Co. serves the Lake Norman area of North Carolina, including Mooresville, Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, and Denver. If you are just outside these areas, contact us — we may still be able to help.

Every project is different, so pricing depends on the size of your garage, the materials you choose, and the scope of work. Most residential projects range from $2,500 to $10,000. We provide a detailed, itemized quote after your free on-site consultation — no surprises.

Yes. Every project starts with a free, no-obligation on-site consultation. We visit your garage, take measurements, discuss your goals and budget, and show you material samples. There is no pressure to commit on the spot.

Most single-car and two-car garage projects are completed in one day. Larger or more complex projects — full workshop builds, multi-zone systems, or garages with significant clean-out work — may take two days. We will give you a realistic timeline during your consultation.

For installation projects, we ask that you clear the areas where we will be working. For full garage clean-outs, we handle the sorting, hauling, and donation coordination — you do not need to do anything in advance.

We use commercial-grade powder-coated steel and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) for most shelving and cabinet systems. These materials are moisture-resistant, extremely durable, and hold up well in the Lake Norman climate. We also offer solid wood options for workshop builds and custom applications.

Absolutely. We design systems around your specific garage and everything in it — including vehicles, boats, trailers, and oversized equipment. We take precise measurements during the consultation to ensure everything fits.

Yes. Ceiling-mounted overhead storage is one of our most popular services. We install systems rated for 400–800 lbs, properly anchored to structural ceiling joists. This is one area where professional installation really matters — improperly anchored overhead racks are a serious safety hazard.

Yes. We design and build complete workshop setups including custom workbenches, tool walls, French cleat systems, cabinet storage, and lighting. We work with woodworkers, automotive hobbyists, and general DIYers throughout the Lake Norman area.

Slatwall is a wall panel system with horizontal grooves that accept hooks, bins, shelves, and accessories. It is more durable than pegboard, holds more weight, and is moisture-resistant — which matters in the Lake Norman area. The biggest advantage is flexibility: you can rearrange accessories without drilling new holes.

Yes. Our full-service garage clean-outs include sorting items into keep, donate, and haul-away categories, coordinating donation pickups, and hauling away what cannot be donated. We can do a clean-out as a standalone service or as the first step before a storage system installation.

A well-organized, finished garage is a meaningful selling point in the Lake Norman market. Buyers notice it. While we cannot guarantee a specific dollar increase in resale value, a custom system consistently helps homes show better and sell faster — particularly in communities where buyers expect quality throughout the home.
